It’s never been easier to pull on your fingerless gloves and get trading. Manchester City Council welcomes anybody who wants to get stuck into setting up a stall – whether you are a complete beginner, a seasoned hand, or a car boot novice, this is the place to get all the information you need. Setting up a market is a great way to become an independent businessperson. The council has several schemes to encourage initiative and enterprise. Their Helping Hands project will guide you through the pitfalls of setting up your own business, providing financial and practical help and support. The National Market Traders Federation (www.nmtf.co.uk) work to encourage market traders across the country, and are also a great source of advice. There are normally always stalls available. All you need to do is contact the Market Manager at the site you are interested in, who will help you with whatever information you require. To contact individual market managers, go to the contact details for each individual site on the left. And some of your many questions and queries are answered on your right. |
